How can we get the message across as clearly as possible, all the while improving the look of the platform?
Create an intimate atmosphere with dark background colors, use negative space to make the platform as uncluttered as possible, and opt for saturated colors to provide for maximum contrast and to highlight important messages.
Interface, marketing website
Gotham Rounded is a technical letter that goes from friendly to high-tech to cheeky with ease. Gotham typeface, inspired by signs on buildings, celebrates the workmanlike “draftsman’s alphabet” at a monumental scale. Similarly unadorned, but at a more intimate size, is the lettering of engineering: the marks on precision instruments, blueprints, stencils and templates. Drawn, stamped, engraved and routed, these forms are sensitively captured by our new Gotham Rounded family, available in eight styles including italics.
The site has improved significantly throughout the entire collaboration. We have succeeded in creating a design with a strong online presence, one that is wonderfully contrasting and uncluttered. As a result, navigation has become easier and more enjoyable for the user.
We were required to use a lot of graphics. This was extremely challenging, for it is no easy task to make a landing page “sexy” with so many metrics, curves, and cylinders. We therefore decided to illustrate these elements, to the greatest extent possible, with 3D, underlining, shadows, and icons. We also spruced up each graphic to make the messages more dynamic.
For our first design, we chose a light-colored background to bring out the shadows of the graphics and illustrations.
